Mosque Times by Sirat data and attribution

Where the Directory's information comes from, what may be reused, and how to credit it.

Last updated: 19 July 2026

Sources and verification

Mosque names, addresses, websites, and jamaat times are checked against public mosque websites, official timetable providers, and approved open datasets. A mosque is published only after its public identity and timetable source pass the Directory's checks. The Directory normalises published times; it does not invent jamaat times.

Imported legacy records may be retained privately for operational history, but they are not a fallback for unverified public names, addresses, or coordinates.

Place names and address grouping use OS Open Names under the Open Government Licence v3.0. Coordinates use approved open sources or first-party knowledge. Release-specific sources and attribution are listed below, and API records state coordinate precision. Approximate postcode centroids are not building or entrance locations.

Dataset licence

The structured dataset returned by the UK Mosque Jamaat Directory JSON snapshot is available under the Open Data Commons Attribution License (ODC-By 1.0). It may be copied, used, and adapted, including commercially, subject to that licence and applicable law.

For a public work produced from the dataset, use this notice:

Contains information from the UK Mosque Jamaat Directory, which is made available under the ODC Attribution License.

If you publicly convey a substantial part or a derivative dataset, follow the notice and licence requirements in ODC-By section 4.2. The licence text controls if this summary differs from it.

What is not licensed

The ODC-By licence covers the structured public JSON dataset. It does not cover:

  • Sirat's app, API, Directory, or website source code, which is proprietary;
  • third-party timetable artwork, website text, photographs, logos, or trademarks; or
  • private evidence, correspondence, internal review notes, or operational databases.

The licence does not imply that a mosque or source provider endorses Sirat or a reuse.

Accuracy, corrections, and questions

Times and venue details can change at short notice. Check the mosque's own source before relying on a result and refresh reused data regularly. To report a problem, use the Corrections and takedowns page. Attribution and reuse questions: [email protected].
